about

Introductory single from our album Tearing Back the Veil II: Awakening.

It was difficult to choose a song to showcase as not one song singularly defines the sound of the whole album. But we feel this is a fitting choice. This one was written after a lengthy Deftones listening session, and inspired as hell by the song Leathers in 2012. Everything just kind of fell in place after that. Enjoy.

lyrics

This plague
In my mind
Is a thousand vices
Without a place to attach

And I'm trying
But the effort's wasted
In the gaze of your faces

I'm dying to see the flames
Of the diamonds in your eyes
How futile is this fate?
Without the drive to achieve it

Losing time
The glass is broken
As the sand slips through my hands

I feel like I'm dying
Every atom returning
I feel my soul burning

I'm beginning to see the flames
Of the diamonds in your eyes
How futile is this fate?
Without the drive to achieve it

Slipping away
Time is slipping away

Realize, what you hide inside
You are primed, prominences rise
We are star driven
We are the children of the sky

Here we stand together
We'll feel forever
The moonlight embrace
Stars becoming displaced

And if we should ever
Fail to stand and weather
We'll be swept away
Drowned in eternal grace
